April Favorites

April Favorites!

For my very first official post, I thought it'll be fun to share with you guys some of my favorite for the month of April.

  • Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation: I love this foundation for the last few months actually, but more so April, since the weather is getting really warm where I live this is really amazing! It's light weight, and provides light-medium coverage without slipping off my combo oily skin in the heat.
  • Physicians Formula Conceal RX Concealer: I found this still in it's packaging in the back of my makeup collection, picked it up, tried it, and fell in love. I use the Benefit's Erase Paste on a regular basis, but it didn't do much for me. This stuff however, does. It covers EVERYTHING. (Full review coming soon)
  • Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Pressed Powder: Next to my Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder which is a LOVE for me, this is probably one of the BEST powders I've tried. It even has SPF 30 in it great for this time of the year! Does it have an "airbrushed" finish? Yes it does! It looks beautiful on top of every foundation, but has enough coverage to wear alone as well. (Full review coming soon)

  • Essence Mono Eyeshadows: I recieved a bunch of these single shadows by Essence from my friend in Germany since it is a German  rand. I've been using Disco Diva and Jazzed Up a lot! Disco Diva is a lovely metalic purple I always get compliments on, and Jazzed up is a shimmery metallic mint color. Probably my favorite shadow combo all month long. You can get them at Ulta here in the States as well as MOST Walgreens now. Which is pretty exciting because I used to get them shipped to me by a friend. They're really inexpensive too! Only a bout 1-2 dollars.
  • L'Oreal Infallible Liquid Eyeliner Pen: By far my favorite eyeliner to date. Not only does it make winged eyeliner easy and quick, the tip is pointy and precise but not flimsy like most eyeliner pens. The winning part for me is how long this lasts on my oily lids, even without a primer. It lasts all day without fading, smearing, and transferring to the top of my lids. The black is super opaque! It's the only liner by far to actually last on my lids. Definitely a LOVE! <3
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Pencil Liners: I'm having extreme luck with liners this month. I discovered these Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencil, and oh my gosh I love this more than my holy grail drugstore liner by Milani. Milani's Liquf'eye liner lasts long-ish on my waterline, but the black one by Rimmel lasts FOREVER. I've been on the hunt for one that lasts more than 2 hrs on my waterline, since my eyes water like crazy! This does the job, and its really creamy so it goes on effortlessly. I've also been using the torquise one from this line a lot in April on my lower lash line for a POP of color. Most gorgeous blue color I've ever seen!
  • Maybelline The Rocket Mascara: This is my current favorite mascara (not holy grail or anything) I like it it does the job, and separates my lashes, it doesn't clump even after 3 coasts for me. As far as voluminousness goes, this is a better lengthening mascara. It keeps the curls up, and does not flake or smear (this is the non waterproof)

  • Milani Color Statement lipstick: I picked these up when CVS had a sale on them for $3.69 probably one of the best purchases I have on impulse buy. I have it in Red Label and Raspberry Rush. These have great pigmentation, like full on bold colors in one swipe. The formula is great, not drying. And it also lasts an extremely long time on the lips. When it wears off it leaves a nice stain, not that yucky ring of color on the outside. I will be buying more colors, because I am in love with these right now, definitely recommend them if you love pigmented lipsticks if you like sheer lipsticks this is probably not for you.
  • Maybelline Color Vivid Lipstick: Along with the Milani lipsticks I've been loving the Maybelline Color Vivids line. The colors are all beautiful, pigmented, and bold. I've been especially loving the Shocking Coral color. It's a very bold coral, and perfect for spring/summer. I've used this so often, I will be needing a back up.
  • Maybelline Baby Lips: One of my favorite lines of lip balms, I've been using Coral Crush (limited edition) under the Shocking Coral lipstick a lot. The orange tint makes the coral color pops even more! Moisturizing and tinted, it also smells like an orange creamscicle. Definitely summer themed.
  • Chapstick Lip Balm: This in the limited edition flavor Red Velvet. I saw this at CVS one day and I had to have it considering I love cake, so this was awesome! It smells kind of like red velvet, and has a slight taste of it too. Weird, but the guy that kisses me really like it, so I assume its a nice thing.

About This Blog:

Hi guys!
My name is Ly pronounced Lee, I'm 18 years old living in good old sunny California. I'm going to graduate high school, and attend Sacramento State University in the fall of 2013 as a communications/journalism major. I love anything beauty, and food related. I love reading beauty blogs, and watching Youtube beauty gurus. I hope to use this bog to inspire you all, and give my opinions on many many products I love and hate. You can say I am a makeup hoarder, I really do love it. My friends all comes to me for makeup advice, and my thoughts on certain products. Since I am heading off to college I realized that I really need to learn to save, especially on makeup which I use on a regular basis. This blog is dedicated to letting you guys know which are the best drugstore products, deals and how to save when buying them. I believe in quality, if I can get quality products I don't care much for the price tag. If I can pay less for it I will.
This blog will be just for drugstore products, all things drugstore because I love drugstore makeup. My makeup collection is made up of mainly drugstore products. I hope to be able to share my knowledge, and pass it on to you. Here we will become one great beauty community.
I will be posting: Reviews, makeup looks (with only drugstore products), deals, ect.

XOXO,
Ly <3
